Webinar recap: How to monitor system performance over time
In the Data Center’s last webinar, Senior Researcher Sara Feldman was joined by Britany Binkowski, JD, Special Assistant to the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (TNDCS). Dr. Feldman and Ms. Binkowski discussed ways in which TNDCS has been promoting a culture of evidence amongst their workforce, specifically through the implementation of a specific performance monitoring tool, the Data Center’s Baselines, Targets, and Actuals (BTA) report.
Dr. Feldman and Ms. Binkowski focused their comments on the critical importance of
(1) building the workforce’s capability to use evidence (in this case, the BTA report),
(2) promoting the motivation of the workforce to use the BTA report as evidence of system performance, and
(3) ensuring the workforce has ample opportunity to consume and apply the evidence contained in the BTA report.
All examples in the webinar used data from the Multistate Foster Care Data Archive. We encourage you to download the webinar slides, listen to the recording, and consider whether the BTA report could be of value to your system. If you think it might, reach out to Sara Feldman at sfeldman@chapinhall.org.
