CQI video modules for Northern California counties
A critical part of building an effective CQI system is strengthening staff’s skills for generating and applying evidence to decision making. To develop this human capital in Northern California, the Data Center collaborated with our longtime partners at U.C. Berkeley and CDSS’s Northern California Training Academy to produce a series of educational videos on best practices for measurement throughout the Plan-Do-Study-Act cycle of CQI. These modules, adapted in large part from the Data Center’s Advanced Analytics for Child Welfare Administration course include, among others, lessons on:
- Selecting the appropriate denominator for performance metrics
- Measuring duration or length of stay in foster care
- Establishing a performance window
